Our mission is to provide personal, individual training to dogs and their owners so that they both can advance at a speed governed by their individual capabilities. The LPD's most critical and important work is overcoming behavioral problems in dogs and improving training capabilities in owners. We meet weekly to train and occasionally hold competitions to recognize excellence in obedience, protection, weight pulling and conformation. These competitions are designed to showcase performance dogs to those who are not familiar with working dogs and it is our hope that they will lead people to begin training their own dogs.
              
Ruben Perez - Training Director
Ruben has been training dogs for over 30 years. He originally apprenticed under master trainer Wilf Olmsted and is well versed in the theory and practice of multiple disciplines including obedience, personal protection, police K-9, Schutzhund, scent detection, tracking and weight pulling. He was supervisor of a guard dog company for more than 10 years and has worked with various area police K-9 units. His skill and knowledge are demonstrated every Sunday at our LPD meets, where your dog will learn at its own speed and will progressively advance in its selected training.
